Running ocean research is hard. There are so many things you have to consider when designing experiments. MEDDLE guides scientists to design and run better experiments and identify the influences of multifaceted ocean change.
Ever heard the parable about the blind men and the elephant? A group of blind men heard that a strange animal, called an elephant, had been brought to the town, but none of them were aware of its shape and form. Each touch a different part of the elephant and describe what they feel differently. The parable demonstrates the limits of perception and the importance of complete context.
The experiment simulator within MEDDLE is a bit like that parable, allowing ocean scientists to improve their research skills by running multi-driver experiment simulations. Scientists can view the simulated results of experiences and then turn on the model surface, essentially revealing the elephant!
