Every project is unique – there’s no escaping it. And that’s what makes being creative in the digital space so amazing. We can plan, create, pivot, prototype and deliver using a variety of platforms, languages and inputs.
We run an agile process framed by structure and delivered against measurable goals of the project. We’ve found that our core process tends to remain the same and this allows us deliver valuable and progressive work on-time, to budget and with a little bit of extra bang. And our process looks a little something like this… (or this + coffee. Lots of coffee)
1. Strategy & Planning
Nobody knows your business quite like you. Bringing that intimate knowledge to light through digital strategy is where we come in.
Researching, wireframing, developing and implementing a detailed plan is what we live for. This is the stage of the process where we take everything you love about your offering and serve it up for the most important people online – your users.
2. User Interface & Design
Gone are the days of designing every screen, content block or form on a website. It just doesn’t work like that anymore. In the last 8 years or so, the explosion in device specs and sizes has forced us to become nimble and creative when it comes to online.
Content needs to be fluid to account for all these possibilities. And our design process needs to be fluid also.
We design modular user interfaces and elements (a lot of that in code directly from wireframes). We take your brand and turn it digital, allowing for consistency in presentation and tone – regardless of device, screen size or location.
3. Code & Enhancement
This is generally where you as a client get a voice in your head saying: ‘Holy heck – this thing is real!’
Here we apply our strategy, structure and UI work to code. We craft, refine and polish to make sure that we get the framework right, the code flawless, the content management scheme locked but also the delighters* right.
*Dee-lie-ter – those little touches that make you go ‘ooh’ and keep your users coming back.
4. Deployment & Support
Launch, rinse and repeat. We’re firm believers that a website, app or online solution is a living, breathing beast. They require care and attention. Their oxygen is content, their lifeblood new features and their successful growth happens via iteration and experimentation.
On this basis, your live product should always be 90% complete. It should always be primed for changes to suit the needs of your users.
So while we love shipping and pushing projects live, what we love more is building on our work and adding (or removing!) features to benefit users and ultimately your conversion rates.
