Proudly supporting the future of regional game development

Last week we got our game on at Level Up Tasmania!

Tasmania’s game development scene punches well above its weight for an island of it’s size, and the Level Up Tasmania Video Game Showcase has returned to Princes Wharf 1 in Hobart for its second year — bigger, busier and more ambitious than ever.

Twenty-six local developers with Tasmanian connections showcased more than 40 locally-made games, free for anyone to pick up and play and an Industry Day featuring panel discussions with local and international games industry experts to discuss the ins-and-out of regional game development.

We’re always drawn to projects that help bring a community together, and Level Up Tasmania is a great example of that in action.

To help pitch in, we helped sponsor the event with a companion webapp we developed for the event, designed to make navigating the showcase as easy as picking up a controller – featuring an easy to navigate event programme, exhibit showcase and floor plan to help visitors get situated and fully grasp the scope of the event.

Backing Tasmania’s creative talent

Projects like Level Up Tasmania matter to us because they matter to the broader creative and tech ecosystem we’re part of. Tasmania has a brilliantly talented pool of game developers, and events like this help raise their profile, connect them with industry, and show the wider community just how much creative energy exists on the island.

We loved being part of it, and we’re already looking forward to see what’s in store for next year’s showcase.
