Ionata at Tas Tech Fest 2026

The Ionata team headed to Tas Tech Fest 2026, TasICT’s biggest general tech conference yet, with over 500 people from across Tasmania’s technology sector. It was also the first public outing for our new brand, so we brought the booth, the banner, and a few nerves.

It was a great day. The kind of day that reminds you why you do this work – a room full of people who care about building things that matter, in a state that punches well above its weight.

Martin spoke about what AI search is doing to the way people find and use websites. It’s a topic we’ve been thinking about a lot, and one that matters to most of the organisations we work with. But the bigger story of the day wasn’t any single talk, it was the event itself. Over 500 people showing up to talk about technology in Tasmania. That’s a big endorsement of the impact of the industry.

We also got to demo some of the AI-powered search work we’ve been building with real clients — helping people navigate complex websites by just asking a question in plain language instead of digging through menus. It’s the kind of problem we like: tangled, real, and solvable.

Days like this matter to us. We’re a small team across Hobart and Melbourne, building digital products for organisations doing meaningful work. Getting out from behind the screens and into a room with the broader tech community is part of how we stay grounded in it.

Thanks to TasICT for putting together such a well-run event, and to everyone who caught the talk or stopped by the booth for a chat. See you next year.
